This week the Quarter Notes worked on spring art and used their fine motor skills to decorate fresh flowers! Our students painted the actual flower and petals, and then made prints with them. Additionally, we learned about the different parts of a flower: the stem, the outer layer which consists of sepals, the petals, the clustered stamens and the center. In our discussion, we learned that flowers are important since they attract pollinators by producing nectar. Our group enjoyed this artwork through its completion!

In music this week, Miss Lisa started off the morning with the "Good Morning Song." Then, she had the children listen to a musical recording so the Quarter Notes could pick out which family of instruments they had heard. The recording’s choices included brass, woodwind, keyboard, percussion, and string. Our Quarter Notes seem to have a natural ear in picking the right group!

Outside this week, the Quarter Notes enjoyed a new basketball hoop while they played on the structure, chatting with classmates and enjoying the sandbox!

We at Suzuki wish you a wonderful and restful spring weekend.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Warmly,

Dana
