This week, the Quarter Notes continued their "Under the Sea" unit. Our week began with a discussion about what we know about Starfish. Eventually, we learned that they are not actually fish! In fact, starfish are carnivores and they are found in all of the world's oceans. We painted our starfish with blue and purple paints, and added glitter!
Next, we worked on our black and white whales. We painted them many shades of blue and added final touches while learning about orcas!
In music this week, Miss Lisa went over important violin positions, such as knowing where your feet are placed, which immeasurably improves performance. These are essential parts of playing the violin. Miss Lisa also continued with identifying instruments with a fun and interactive game.
This week in Mandarin, we counted numbers, sang a beautiful song about Rain, and learned some new vocabulary, which include eyes, potato, and dumplings! We also created Yoga poses to celebrate colors!
Outside this week, the Quarter Notes had a lot of fun in the sandbox, the structure, using the new balls in our yard, and talking with classmates!
And last but not least, the Quarter Notes have been taking their naps after a busy school day at Suzuki.
I wish you all a wonderful and restful weekend!
Love, Dana
